Let’s Get Real!

Okay, so come on people, this isn’t rocket science. You have XXX dollars that come in, you spend LESS than XXX dollars going out. Doh! For those of you whose employment situation has changed (i.e. lost a job, got a new job at less money, etc), this means that you have to take immediate action to change your outgoing dollars. Declutter Tip!

I was talking to my cousin Debbie a couple days ago lamenting that I had not been keeping up with my 20 minutes a day of decluttering for the last few weeks & have mail piled up on my dining room table. She said that she put a chair in her garage (where she enters her house after work). She lets her dogs out to do “their business”, sits in the chair and goes thru the mail. Watch your Mail for Interest Rate Increases from your Credit Card comanies

Credit Card Agreement Changes.  Reminder!  Anytime you receive interest rate increase/change notices, know that YOU CAN OPT OUT of these changes!  You have 45 days to call and tell them you do not accept the change.  However, if you make any additional charges to the account, that invalidates your OPT OUT.  In addition, if you opt out, when your balance is paid off, they will likely close your account (which probably won’t help your credit score).   May be worth it anyway.  Most of them are not willing to negotiate on the rate, though some are if your credit is good.   Sometimes, you have to ask for a supervisor and go up the line.  Doesn’t hurt to call and ask!
